Boutique Winery in Franciacorta

Joska & Francesca Biondelli — are undoubtedly the masters of Italy’s prized sparkling wine. I have never been an oenophile but thanks to Joska’s talent in the cellar, I fell in love with the estate’s wine and Satèn has become one of my favorites. Biondelli is a beautiful, historic place and Francesca’s hospitality and savoir-faire can be felt throughout. An interior designer herself, she has expertly designed and restored it with a skillful and unconventional mix & match of different fabrics, patterns and colors.

The Fairy Tale in the Fairy Tale

A unique tale to tell….

The Genie of the Lamp

During the Second World War, due to the air raids on Milan, the villa became home to the production of one of the first animated feature films of the history of cinema. Also dubbed in English and released on foreign markets with the title The Singing Princess — with Julie Andrews dubbing the princess’ voice — it was inspired from the story of the Genie of the Lamp about fifty years before the production of Aladdin animated movie by Walt Disney Pictures, which was derived, just as The Singing Princess from the tales of the One Thousand and One Nights.

Villa Biondelli was, and still is, an evocative place where time has stopped. Despite the atrocities of WWII and the destruction of such difficult time in history, a group of talented artists had nowhere to go. Locked up at Villa Biondelli, a special setting despite circumstances, that helped them give birth to a magical animated movie that still lives within our walls.

Once Upon a Time at Villa Biondelli

The aristocratic elegant interiors are thus a mix between the original antique furnishing of the villa, with a bit of an ethnic colonial and bohemian twist, chosen specifically to honour such animated movie after almost eighty years from its making.

A selection of the authentic watercolours and drawings have been used as core inspiration for the refurbishment of the resort whilst three shutters painted by the creators of the movie have been preserved as memoires of the production who lived among our walls.

Today, we still live and breath the magical atmosphere that was backdrop to such a wonderful story. Hosted by the very owners and wine makers, in a cozy ambience that recalls a bygone area. We are here to ensure you feel like you never left your own home.

UNESCO Heritage Site
Tempio Capitolino, Brescia

The Capitolium of Brixia or the Temple of the Capitoline Triad in Brescia was the main temple in the center of the Roman town of Brixia (Brescia). It is represented at present by fragmentary ruins, but is part of an archeological site, including a Roman amphitheatre and museum in central Brescia.

The temple was built in 73 AD during the rule of emperor Vespasian.

1000 Miglia Museum
The most famous historical race car

The race was established by the young Counts Aymo Maggi and Franco Mazzotti, apparently in response to the Italian Grand Prix being moved from their home town of Brescia to Monza. Together with a group of wealthy associates, they chose a race from Brescia to Rome and back, a figure-eight shaped course of roughly 1500 km — or a thousand Roman miles.

The first race started on 26 March 1927 with seventy-seven starters — all Italian — of which fifty-one had reached the finishing post at Brescia by the end of the race
